Capt. Lori grew up in Southern-Central Oklahoma, the youngest of 5 children, and was always right along side of her father, helping him with any task. As a result, when she married Captain Kevin in 1995, boating, birding, fishing had already been high on the list of things to do with the family. From the first trip to the Rockport/Fulton area, she immediately fell in love with the laid-back way of life and with the beauty and wildlife that the Aransas Bay system provides. When the need for a second boat came-up, not only did Captain Lori want to be the operator, she was instrumental in the design and building of her boat, The Lady Lori – all courtesy of the teaching of her father and Kevin’s faith in her ability. Captain Lori enjoys meeting the birders and photographers from around the world and absolutely loves being able to show them our beautiful part of the Texas Coast.  She’s one of the few “Lady Fishing Captains” in the area too!

Capt. Kevin has been fishing and birding in the Aransas Bay systems for 45 years. Kevin’s family had a small fishing cabin on Ayers dugout in Ayers Bay. Ayers Bay is adjacent to the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. Traveling to and from the fishing cabin by boat, (Kevin’s father would point-out many birds) but none as majestic as the Whooping Crane.  After high school Kevin joined the Air Force. In 1995 he married the love of his life, Capt. Lori and together they have raised 5 amazing children plus two wonderful grandsons.  He bought Aransas Bay Birding Charters in 2003 and his touring boat, The Jack Flash, has been accommodating photographers, birders and other adventures with customized tours ever since.  He took-up photography in 2004, developed his business and his passion for capturing the best images possible…and then in 2013, along with Captain Lori, designed, customized and built their second boat.  Capt. Kevin is also a successful fishing guide!  The Jack Flash has a cabin and port-a-potty inside.  The boat is powered by a 150hp Yamaha motor – one of the leading motor manufacturers for reliability and safety!

As a perfect closing for the “About Us” page it seems only right to thank the following entities.  These local, state and national organizations have helped forge a successful conservation mindset and help promote a healthy “eco-tourism climate” on a daily basis throughout the Coastal Bend area and beyond!  We applaud your willingness, commitment and efforts to conserve and preserve our natural resources.  Our pristine waterways, marine life, birds and all things “in nature” must be protected so that our children’s children will have the opportunity to see and discover the beauty that is – the Texas Coastal Bend.   Thank you for your years of service.

The Jack Flash and Lady Lori are Featured Boats for Professional Photographers – World-wide!!
